From a humble start in a local
elementary school four years ago
(Thanks
Dalcy!), to the Whistler Conference Centre in the
heart of Whistler village this year
(2007), it has been a wonderful
journey.
Thanks to all our participants,
partners and volunteers!
It was great to see
all the new faces, and heartwarming to reconnect with those of
you who return year after year.
2007 saw
our fourth venue in four years, each year bigger and better, and
the weather was fantastic. (Maybe just a little too nice
to be inside ;-))
Whistler
was a busy place that weekend, with our May Fair,
Father-Daughter Annual Gala, and Mother's Day all falling on the
first summer-like weekend after a long, long winter. So
the trails, bike paths, and outdoor patios were hopping with
visitors, and thanks to our partner Tourism Whistler, the
conference centre was a convenient stop for many.
The Body
Comp trailer was testing folks outside by the Whistler
Question van, there were slow-food cooking demos in the
foyer and fresh spring produce from North Arm Farms, the Salt
Spring Island Fiddle Troup gave a wonderful performance, and
kids played games of feather-hacky sack and ring-frisbee.
Inside,
visitors could try samples of everything from organic chocolate
to xango juice, spin on a stationary bike or have their back
walked on, watch a pole-dancing fitness demo or a belly-dancing
beauty. The room was vibrant and the displays were gorgeous.
Thanks
again everyone. "See you at the fair!" in 2008.
